Annual Physical Check-ups

Why is annual physical check-up important for children?

An annual check-up is important for children as it allows both parents and children to assess the growth and development of the child. It helps to know the well-being of your children and you can ask your paediatrician every question coming in your mind regarding your child’s health. It gives pediatrician insight into family dynamics and the environment in which the child is growing and learning.

What happens during a pediatrician visit for child check-ups?

From newborn till 11 years of age, you need to take good care of your child for his physical & mental health. Visiting a child care specialist is significant because you may not be able to diagnose certain problems that your doctor as a pediatrician can diagnose.

When you take your child to a pediatrician to at least once in a year, the doctor there will-

  • Perform a physical test
  • Give the child required shots (immunizations or vaccinations)
  • Track the physical and mental growth of your child
  • Talk about illness prevention,
  • Check nutrition and diet
  • Evaluate physical fitness (like height & weight), health and safety issues
  • Talk about how to handle emergencies and sudden illness

What all comes under a annual physical check-up?
