Best way to keep your teeth healthier

Taking care of your oral hygiene is as important as taking care of your skin, hair, etc. Achieving healthy teeth demands a lifetime of care. As a matter of fact, you don’t need a lot of effort to keep your smile brighter and healthy, it takes a small effort that should be put every day. In this article, we will be discussing some healthy routines for your oral care.

1. Brush every morning-

This is something we all are taught since childhood but still, most of us consume food or beverages before brushing. When we sleep at night, our mouth gets enough amount of bacteria from the saliva we produce in our mouth. If you don’t brush your teeth in the morning before eating, a substance known as tartar will accumulate on the surface of your teeth and can be difficult to clean. This tartar forms a layer with time and damages your teeth.

2. Brush before sleeping

Develop a habit of brushing your teeth before you go to bed. Most of us usually avoid this but it helps to get rid of the germs and plaque that accumulate throughout the day.

3. Use Fluoride toothpaste

Do not just step on any toothpaste. Not all are meant to clean your teeth properly. Apart from looking for just whitening, you should also look for oral care. When it comes to toothpaste, there are more important elements to look for than just whitening power and flavour. No matter which toothpaste you choose, make sure it contains fluoride. A fluoride-rich toothpaste acts as a defence against tooth decay. It fights against germs that lead to tooth decay and provide a protective covering to your teeth.

4. Rinse mouth after eating

We often avoid rinsing at public places especially when we are in the office or at someone else’s place but rinsing your mouth after every time you eat is very important. Rinsing helps to wash away the food particles stick to your teeth and help your teeth from bacterial infections that develops over time. Either you can rinse with plain water or you can add some amount of mouth freshener too.

5. See your dentist once or twice annually

Some people visit the dentist only when they encounter a problem in their teeth. But this isn’t the best way to keep your oral health. Giving a visit to your dentist once or twice a year helps you to keep an eye on your oral health. Not only can a dentist remove calculus and look for cavities but they will also be able to spot potential issues and offer treatment solutions. Any disease takes time to show symptoms. It is always good to take precautions than strive for a cure later.
